New Businesses Opening in Brickell and Downtown

Sakaya Kitchen

Sakaya Kitchen opened its second location a few weeks ago in downtown.  The new restaurant is located at 125 SE 3rd Avenue.  I checked out their Midtown location a couple of years ago and remember it being pretty good. Their new location is centrally located and likely caters to a lunchtime crowd. This restaurant has great wide sidewalks that can comfortably accommodate outdoor dinning. It also has an overhang to protect pedestrians and customers from the hot Florida sun and summer thunderstorms.

Le Boudoir

Opening its third location is Le Boudoir.  Le Boudoir already has restaurants open in Coral Gables and Brickell. Their new downtown cafe is near the Dade County Court House on NW Miami Court. I’ve been to the Brickell restaurant and the food is good and reasonably priced.

Dominique

Dominque Bistro-Club is opening next door to the Brickell Irish Pub on South Miami Avenue in the One Broadway building.  Dominque took over the former green dry cleaner Ecolav location.  I have no other details on this restaurant, but it sounds like it will be French cuisine.

7-Eleven

7-Eleven will open a second downtown location on the ground floor of Loft II at 330 NE 2nd Ave.  Small grocers will likely do well in downtown in the short term, as there are currently no supermarkets within walking distance of the CBD. Whole Foods plans to open a 37,000-square-foot store on the ground floor of Met 3, a 440-unit condominium located at 200 SE 2nd St. in downtown Miami. That store is scheduled to open at the end of 2013 according the South Florida Business Journal.
