David Restainer has left Fortune International as their Sales Director and has moved to Douglas Elliman to take over as Miami Managing Broker and Managing Director of Commercial Division.

Mr. Restainer, who began his career in real estate in 1998, has been a Top Producer for 10 consecutive years in the Miami luxury real estate market. During that time, he directed some of the most successful projects and teams in the industry, including playing an integral role in repositioning Paramount Bay as one of the most successful condominium re-launches in Miami history. As part of the team that launched the Commercial Real Estate Division at Miami’s Fortune International, Mr. Restainer represented Publix Anchored Centers and CVS Stores among other major buyers and sellers in the commercial arena. He has deep experience in a range of property types, including hotels, office buildings, land, and multi-family residences.
Mr. Restainer has been a resident of Miami and Miami Beach for 20 years and is as passionate about the regional community as he is about real estate. He currently serves on the Real Estate Committee of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, the New World Center Committee, and the Leadership Miami Executive Committee. He also created and implemented the Economic Development Session program and was the Chairman of it for three years.
Mr. Restainer is a graduate of Miami Beach’s Neighborhood Leadership Academy, and the recipient of the Carlos Arboleya Outstanding Participant Award from the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce Leadership Miami program. Active in civic and cultural organizations, Mr. Restainer is now serving his sixth term as Chairman of the Friends of the New World Symphony, and has for eight years been the mentor of a child through the Big Brother and Big Sisters of Miami program.
Mr. Restainer holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance with a minor in Management from Central Michigan University and he studied International Finance and Management at the Sanno Institute in Tokyo, Japan. Mr. Restainer began his professional life at Wall Street giant Dean Witter, where, at the age of 22, he was the youngest person accepted to Dean Witter’s sales training program that year.
