Ride in style-DWNTWN ART SHUTTLE

Yes, Art Basel is here and this is also the time of year when Miami’s already failing infrastructure begins to break at the seams due to our lack of public transit. Traffic is atrocious and cars barely move. Your best option to get around Wynwood is either to walk or to ride a bicycle. Driving during Art Basel, or attempting to do so, will take at least three years off your life.  If you can’t walk or don’t have a bicycle take the DWNTWN ART SHUTTLE-you won’t road rage and you won’t have to drive around aimlessly looking for parking.

Historic Wynwood home becomes TSL Lounge and The Butcher Shop

The entrepreneurial sprite is alive and well in Wynwood.  Igor Niznik and his son Fred, along with partner Mark Dorfman, have just opened TSL Lounge in Wynwood.  Next door to TSL they will soon open The Butcher Shop.

1927 historic home has been converted to a bar and lounge

A historic 1927 single family home has been persevered and  retrofitted and now houses the TSL indoor and outdoor lounge.  There is a full bar inside and out with a projector screen on the outside wall.

Next door, in the same complex, an old warehouse has been repurposed as a butcher shop.  But The Butcher Shop isn’t your everyday old-school butcher shop- it will merge retail, restaurant and beer garden into one experience. The Butcher Shop will probably open up towards the end of December beginning of January. However, they will have a preview with a sample menu of food and beer for Art Basel and the outside area will be open.

Both restaurants have complimentary valet service and are located at 165 NW 23rd St.

This is a great addition to Wynwood. As more retail locations like these open up we will continue to see safety in the area improve.  More eyes on the street are the best deterrent against crime. Please welcome TSL Lounge and The Butcher Shop to Wynwood and support locally owned businesses.

RealShare Industrial Conference

The expansion of the Panama Canal will likely have a dramatic effect on Miami.  In anticipation of the increased volume of cargo coming through the Port of Miami, engineers will begin dredging the port to accomodate the larger panamex ship.  The FECI will also reconnect rail service to the port in the coming months.  All these factors will have a positive effect on the industrial asset class in South Florida. In fact, we’re already seeing greater demand and lower vacancy rates for larger industrial space.  This should be a great conference.

1111 Lincoln- World’s Coolest Parking Garage?

We’re not advocating for more parking garages, quite the contrary, Miami Beach needs to get serious about public transit if it really wants to become a world class city that it claims to be.  Parking really isn’t a problem on Miami Beach, lack of transportation options is at the heart of Miami Beach’s failure to evolve into a world class city. That being said,  if we’re going to build more parking garages they should be visionary garages like 1111 Lincoln which was designed by Herzog & de Meuron.  Check out this short video with 1111 developer Bob Wennett. The attention to detail makes the parking garage less of a parking garage and more of a usable flex-space.
